Children's Stories

Illustrations from a discarded children's story book, a series of fairy tale postage stamps from 1950s Luxembourg and an antique little wooden fairy holding a dragonfly decorate the front of this bowl. On the back is a list of children's stories , hand painted wooden buttons and vintage crocheted lace trim. (back photo to come). The bowl has an acrylic finish, and can be cleaned with a damp cloth. Love Letter

An actual folded, posted letter from 1921, an illustration from a very old scrapbook of two women reading a letter, a stamp from Brazil, an old brass pen nib and a Victorian trading card with yellow rose decorate this bowl.. What might have been in the letter? The back is covered wit a hand-crocheted doily with pansies. The bowl has an acrylic finish, and can be cleaned with a damp cloth. Roses, Roses, Roses

This center Victorian Trading, 2-dimensional card advertised a brand of chocolate. An old ceramic rose bud, lily of the valley trade card, stamp from Finland and hand-blown glass lady bug keep each other company among bits and pieces of vintage jewelry. The back is covered with a crocheted doily and roses. The bowl has an acrylic finish, and can be cleaned with a damp cloth. Not suitable for liquid or food.

This bowl was inspired by the1920s illustration of the "Button Ladies." I added an illustration of a girl sewing from a 1930s scrapbook, as well as antique button cards, tiny buttons still in their original packet, vintage needle packets, and finished with tiny brass safety pins to dangle with a tiny scissors. A vintage lapel pin anchors the pins to the bowl. The back is vintage rick rack trim, and an interesting old needle packet cover. The bowl has an acrylic finish, and can be cleaned with a damp cloth. This is one of three special bowls created around the discarded 1930s book by a man who tramped fields and forests, translating bird song to musical notes, and capturing each bird in his watercolor paintings.  Antique bits and buttons decorate the front and back. The bowl has an acrylic finish, and can be cleaned with a damp cloth. Not suitable for liquid or food.

The stars of this bowl are the beautiful postage stamps from Czechoslovakia. with antique buttons picking out the vibrant colors and a hand-crocheted red lace band. On the back, hand-painted wooden buttons accented with hand crocheted trim circle a doily of antique linen with cut-work lace. The bowl has an acrylic finish, and can be cleaned with a damp cloth. Roses for my Friend

This collage bowl is covered with the antique pages from a 1936 French newsprint magazine with a story about a woman who made paper roses for her friend who was very ill. Antique chiffon rose ribbon circles the front, and a large scrap cutout of roses from a 1920s scrapbook ring the lady. The back shows another illustration. Hand woven edging. The central illustration is a very old Victorian Trade Card... on the back was always the advertisement of some goods, the stamp is from Czechoslovakia, circa 1950s, antique buttons, lace and "Victorian paper scrap" butterflies dress up the bowl, the rim is ringed with pound pieces of a jigsaw puzzle, cut to size.  The back is a piece of embroidered linen, lace and antique buttons. The bowl has an acrylic finish, and can be cleaned with a damp cloth. Not suitable for liquid or food.

A Vintage illustration of the
"P for Pansy" fairy, antique glass buttons at the rim, additional other old buttons and a very old flocked paper pansy from a greeting card decorate this bowl. The star is the little handmade wooden fairy with felt petals and antique lilac rick rack. The back is a created
with several antique laces and doilies. The bowl has an acrylic finish, and can be cleaned with a damp cloth. Not suitable for liquid or food.

This beautiful trading card from the 1880s is surrounded by antique shell buttons, and a US Postage stamp set of 4, commemorating the seashore, circa 1972, and antique braid trim. The back of this bowl is covered with a very old and delicate crocheted lace, that needed showing off again. The bowl has an acrylic finish, and can be cleaned with a damp cloth. 1n 1880s Victorian trade card of a sweet girl and her dog (usually with advertising on the back) are kept company by old paper scrap roses, tiny stamps for Holland (Netherlands) and Japan Nipon) antique buttons and trim, the hand-embroidered word Flowers.

Two vintage wooden shoes with flower bouquet decorate Victorian trade cards from the 1890s. The bowl is embellished with antique lace and old buttons, a stamp from 1950s Belgium.
